Adding Sockets and using Sockets on Equipment

Some important information about socketing equipment. You can add up to 5 sockets to an item. Any armor or weapon can be socketed as well as jewelry.  For sockets to help your skill you must have taken a 120 power scroll for that skill. If you don't you are capped at 100 even with sockets.

When you socket an item you can only have a total of 5 lines on the item that add skills. So if you are socketing a plate leg that has  +10 Swordsmanship and +10 Tactics before you socket it, then you can only add 3 sockets that add skills for a total of 5 lines that add to skills. If you add runes or crystals to an item you still have to follow the 5 socket rule. It will only count the first 5 sockets or any + skill and then the sockets so that the total of + skills and sockets add up to 5. So two + skills and 3 sockets equal 5.

Socket scrolls are available in any number from 1 to 5 so if you can add less than 5 sockets to fit your equipment.

Please note that not all items are socketable.  Take for instance boots, belts, clothing talismans are not socketed able by default. However, from time to time special equipment has been made that is socketable in those spots.  In the future, special items will b sold with an explanation detailing if they can be socketed. A new custom tinkered item Armored Robes CAN be socketed.

The current list of known socketable items that are not Armor, Jewelry, weapons, Ethereal Mount or shield is:

Dark Lords Wrap: Robe

Armored Robe: Robe

Swamp: Boots

Belt of Lost Souls: Belt

Emporer's Dragon: Talisman

Admirals Hat: Cloth Hat
